Four English clubs have discovered which teams they’ll be facing in the Champions League quarter-finals after the draw was made in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday morning.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham all remain in contention to win Europe’s premier cup competition after securing their places in the last eight.
City are currently the bookmakers’ favourites to become European champions for the first time in their history after hammering Schalke 10-2 over two legs. They are followed by Barcelona who, inspired by Lionel Messi, thrashed Lyon 5-1 on Wednesday night.
Cristiano Ronaldo was the star of the show on Tuesday, scoring a remarkable hat-trick – just as he said he would – to help Juventus advance to the next round at Atletico Madrid’s expense.
The Italian giants are currently the third favourites to win this season’s competition, ahead of last year’s runners-up Liverpool, who recorded a hugely-impressive 3-1 win over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena to book their place in the quarters.
So, here’s the Champions League quarter-final draw in full:
Ajax v Juventus
Liverpool v FC Porto
Tottenham v Man City
Man Utd v Barcelona
