The notice was read by Chinedu Offor who briefed journalists in Owerri after the plenary session on Wednesday.

Trouble started when the Speaker Ihim during the plenary session read a letter of apology against what was described as illegal suspension of 27 local government council chairmen and ruled that they should be recalled without calling for house members’ vote.

Issues raised by members of the house were ignored by the speaker who quickly adjourned and left with the majority leader of the house, Lugard Osuji

Members who saw the walk out as insult remained at the house chamber even after the power supply had been cut off, throwing the house into darkness.

Offor disclosed that Ihim on a regular basis run the house without parliamentary procedure, adding that his action at the plenary on Wednesday was an insult to the other lawmakers.
